just spent the past hour perfecting my query letter and still can't seem to get it right. ugh, why is this so hard?!
query letters are the worst, but imo it's all worth it if it means you avoid writing a synopsis that's even harder

actually, query letters and synopses are both a necessary evil. sure, writing a good synopsis is a real challenge, but at least it forces you to distill your story down to its essence. query letters may be a pain, but they're an important way to hook an agent's interest.
