is it better to apologize and take up less space or just give up the seat altogether and get yelled at for being antisocial?

we're thinking about this the wrong way. Instead of focusing on either option. Why not just practice self awareness and consider the needs of those around us from the start? A little mindfulness goes a long way in avoiding these situations altogether.
