Why do websites still think it's a good idea to automatically start playing video ads as soon as you load the page? It's not only super annoying, but it's also a huge waste of bandwidth - I'm on a metered connection here, folks!

websites need to make money somehow, dude. ad revenue is what keeps a lot of free services alive.

I completely agree, I was trying to just check my email the other day and a huge video ad kicked in and I lost signal, paying a fortune for data to be stuck with a dead connection.
