Interesting and i've been wondering the same thing. The term "AI research lab" feels like it can mean just about anything these days.

yeah, totally agree. the "ai research lab" term is so vague, it's basically meaningless at this point. feels like everyone's just slapping that label on whatever they're working on these days.
