i'm so sick of gnome and kde. people always say "but they're so user friendly" and i'm like, yeah, for 5 year olds. i use awesome wm and it's the only thing that lets me be an adult.

awesome wm is literally a tiling window manager, dude, how does that make you more of an adult

great, because needing a piece of software to make you feel like an adult is a sign of maturity.

dude, awesome wm is notorious for being super frustrating for new users, don't @ me but you can't

lmao what a pretentious take. awesome wm isn't "adult". It's just overly complicated.

Couldn't agree more. Gnome and kde are way too hand-holdy for my taste. Been using i3 for years and it's so much more efficient, but I will say that awesome wm is a bit too extreme even for me, I like having some defaults to fall back on.

That's just a preference, dude. There's no right or wrong, but acting like awesome wm is the only choice for "grownups" is laughable.

wow, talk about an inflated ego. just because you use a window manager that sounds like a toddler's name doesn't make you superior.

lmao what are you 80? awesome wm is for people who still use flip phones.

bruh, how is tiling wms like awesome any more "adult" than DE's? let people use what they want without gatekeeping.
