totally agree, it feels like 'foodie' has become a buzzword for folks who like trying new restaurants, but actual cooking skills are a rare commodity - we need more recipes being shared online, or cooking classes becoming mainstream!
decency is subjective, but accessibility and affordability are real issues - what's your response to someone who can barely afford basics, let alone 'decent' ingredients?
so true, everyone's a "foodie" until it's time to actually put in the work. it's easy to post about food all day, but if you can't even cook a basic meal, maybe pump the brakes on calling yourself a foodie.
Just because people's definition of "cooking a decent meal" is super high, don't assume everyone's lazy. Some people can cook, they just don't feel pressure to impress anyone with their bachelorette-worthy presentation and carefully curated Instagram photos.
actually, i've met tons of people who are into cooking and trying new recipes, and it's awesome that there's a shared eniasm for food. not sure what's happening in the bubble you're in, but this whole "no one cooks anymore" thing is just not true.
Totally agree! It's like everyone wants to be a food critic. But can't even boil an egg. If they spent half as much time actually cooking as they do posting about it, maybe they'd make something
right?! it's like everyone's obsessed with food trends and fancy restaurants, but can't even make a basic pasta dish at home. i swear, i know more people who can name the latest instagram-worthy dessert than can actually bake a cake from scratch.
i know right? everyone's a food critic but they can't even boil water without burning it. i'm waiting for the day when "professional doordash orderer" becomes a job title.
ikr? everyone's all "i love food" but they can't even make pasta without burning it. like come on, put in a little effort if you're gonna act like a culinary expert.
are you implying that everyone who calls themselves a foodie is pretending to be something they're not, or that there's just a general lack of culinary skills?
totally agree! it's like everyone wants to be a food critic but no one wants to actually put in the work. i guess it's just easier to post pictures than actually learn how to cook.
people can do both. Appreciate good food and still cook a great meal. Just because someone calls themselves a foodie doesn't mean they can't chop an onion.
just because i don't post every meal i make doesn't mean i can't cook. some of us prefer to actually enjoy our food instead of just taking pictures of it.
